Tasteless In Albany
Thu, Apr. 3 2008
Hi there, I was at the show on Sunday and brought a couple friends. (We would be the three female gentiles that spoke to you after the show.) Just wanted to let you know what a great time we had. There aren't many occasions where one laughs out loud for two hours. Except for the Tom Paxton one at the end that made me cry. I am in awe of anyone with musical talent because I have none. But I love music and use it everyday in my kindergarten classroom. In fact my classroom is the only place I sing in public. Thanks again. Cheers, Bonnie
Please make it end....

Hey guys! Thanks for the great focus show last night in Alexandria! Left me gasping for breath as always. I hope you are working on the song "So Long Little W", or "Farewell to the Chief", or whatever you in your witsdom should choose to title it! Hey, the guy's been full of it for going on 8 years now, and he really has to GO! It'll be a grand occasion, and who better than Modern Man to celebrate it??!! (George didn't really vote for him, did he.....Hitler, sure, but the little W?) Thanks for the fun! Gale

So, you didn't give time or ticket info on the show at Town Hall, and you didn't give the channel on xm. Is it by any chance mixed bag radio, which some of us already heard (and loved) on wfuv? Ed Y.

That's true, Ed. But I did mention both items before they happened, which is a distinct upgrade from previous form.
The radio show is on XM15 The Village, Mary Sue Twohy hosting.
Town Hall tix I'll find out about. Probably on the high side. Glitz is our life.
Best, db
You...you really like me!

In what can only be regarded as a black hole in the history of critical judgement, MODERN MAN has been voted - by the NYC press - a NIGHTLIFE AWARD for OUTSTANDING CABARET COMEDY GROUP. The boys will be performing and receiving their award ( three separate statues, I hope…. ) Monday night, January 28, at New York’s Town Hall on West 43rd St. Hosting the show is three-time Emmy Winner ( for writing the Oscar Telecasts ) Bruce Vilanch. Other winners who are coming include Marilyn Maye ( flying in from Kansas City ), John Pizzarelli and country star Lari White, a three-time Grammy winner, who is flying in from Nashville to perform a number as guest entertainer. Alan King, Robert Klein, Betty Buckley, Ute Lemper, Maureen McGovern, Karen Akers and a slew of others have performed at previous Nightlife Award galas.
Move the satellite a little to the left, wouldya, Martha?

There will be some hints of adult content on this show - so if there are kids present, please turn to another channel. www.modernman3.com Eastern Time: Tuesday Feb 12, noon, Friday Feb 15, midnight Pacific Time: Tues Feb 12, 9 AM, Friday Feb 15, 9 PM Over an hour

Okay, okay, I apologize. Yes, it's true, mail should be checked more than once a year. I'll try to do better in '08. It's just that every time I go on the internet, I get distracted by...by...uh, research. Yeah, that's it, research. You'd be amazed at some of the...well, never mind. But I will try to post your lovely letters more often. Your pal, db for MM
